We are thrilled to announce that Stainless Games has been nominated in two categories for the Develop Industry Excellence Awards 2012.
A jury of over 100 games development executives will vote for the winners ahead of the award ceremony, to be held at the 2012 Develop Conference in Brighton, UK.
Stainless has been nominated in the Business Development category primarily for its work in the digital download space. The company identified the digital download space as a growth area prior to the launch of the Xbox 360 and the Xbox Live Arcade service that came with it. Starting with two titles in the XBLA launch window, Stainless has now created over 20 download SKUs on multiple platforms, including XBLA, Playstation Network and Nintendo DSi.
In the Use of a Licence category, Stainless is nominated for its work in creating Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers. Working closely with publisher Wizards of the Coast, Stainless successfully combined its design skills with its extensive digital download expertise to create not only a number 1 hit title with the original Duels of the Planeswalkers, but repeated the feat for its sequel, Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. The next title in the series, Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 is due for release this summer. A gameplay trailer has been released.
