Videogame Programmers/Senior Videogame Programmers
We’re looking to recruit a number of experienced programmers at our studio on the South Coast of England to work on high-profile projects. We offer excellent conditions and a competitive package in a fun working environment.
As a programmer at Stainless you will be working with or leading an agile team to deliver high quality code to agreed specifications in collaboration with designers and artists. Successful candidates will be passionate about making the best games using the best quality code.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong C++ programming experience
- Good BSc degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
- Previous programming experience of at least 2 years (5 years for Senior level programmers)
- Technical appreciation of current generation video game platform hardware
- Good communications skills in working with other programmers, designers, artists, QA and production
We require programmers with any or all of the following skills:
- Experience in developing networked games
- Strong understanding of 3D graphics programming
- Good awareness of AI and physics systems
- Experience of PS3, Xbox 360 or PC development
- LUA, Python or C# programming experience
- Experience of iOS or Android development
- Experience of client/server architectures Low level engine programming
The following are desirable but not essential…
- At least one published game
- Familiarity of agile development methodologies

Technical Project Manager
The primary responsibility of the Technical Project Manager is to manage the internal Technical team alongside the Head of Tech.
The Tech team are responsible for supporting all projects at Stainless with the continual development, enhancement and future planning of our own mature, multi-platform game engine.
This is a cross-project role and as such the TPM will maintain high levels of coordination between Project Leads and Production to ensure the Tech team deliver required technical features and enhancement to required game production schedules.
The TPM will have high level technical expertise, programming task planning, deep knowledge of development platforms and programming team management.
Working alongside the Head of Tech Programmer the TPM will take on the majority of the administrative and planning responsibilities for the Tech programming team allowing the Head of Tech Programmer to focus the majority of their time on programming.
Ideal candidates will have skills in the following areas:
- Experienced programmer
- Experienced managing a team of programmers
- Prior production experience
- Experience working in an Agile environment
